| Coast Guard station welcomes public for tours |
|
SOUTHWEST HARBOR, Maine- Coast Guard Sector Field Office Southwest Harbor is opening its doors to the public for its 7th annual open house Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Coast Guard Pier on Clark Point Road here.
During the open house the public can tour the Coast Guard station's 47-foot, self-righting motor life boat, a 41-foot utility boat, and a 25-foot response boat. A Coast Guard aids to navigation team will have a vessel designed to repair buoys and other navigational aids on display, and the Coast Guard Cutter Bridle will have personnel on hand to answer questions about their 65-foot ice breaking tug. Coast Guard Auxiliary members will also be available with information on boating safety and knot tying.

On-base parking will not be available.
Due to increased security oversized bags will not be allowed on base.
All bags and backpacks are subject to inspection upon entering Coast Guard property.
Service animals are allowed, but pets will not be allowed on Coast Guard property.
