Coast Guard searching for missing boater

BOSTON - The Coast Guard is searching today for a 46-year-old man after his vessel capsized near the Isle of Shoals off the coast of Portsmouth, NH.

Coast Guard Station Portsmouth Harbor received a call around 10 a.m., from the daughter of Christopher Tobey, of Kittery, Maine, the owner of the 44-foot lobster boat Sav-a-buck, reporting that Tobey, his teenage son and a third crewmember had not returned from their trip.

The trio left on their trip Sunday morning, and were due to be back at 5 p.m. that day.

A 47-foot boat crew from Station Portsmouth Harbor and a Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Cape Cod, Mass., are currently searching for Tobey.

Tobey's son and the other crewmember were found on Duck Island, NH, after spending the night there. They were transported to Station Portsmouth Harbor. Their condition is unknown.

Editor's Note: A Coast Guard spokesperson will be available for interviews at Station Portsmouth Harbor after 2:30 p.m., today.
